Manish Sisodia Arrest, Delhi Live News Today: The CBI on Monday produced Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, arrested in a corruption case related to the excise policy, before a city court. There was a heavy security presence in and outside the Rouse Avenue Courts premises. The agency produced Sisodia before special judge M K Nagpal and has sought a 5-day custody. As of now, the court has reserved its order.Meanwhile, AAP has begun its nationwide protests against the arrest of Sisodia in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor excise policy case. Several AAP supporters were detained after they clashed with paramilitary forces during the protest outside the BJP headquarters at Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Marg. The personnel resorted to lathicharge to disperse them.
A day after Sisodia’s arrest, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Monday said: “I am told that most CBI officers were against Manish’s arrest. All of them have huge respect for him and there is no evidence against him. But the political pressure to arrest him was so high that they had to obey their political masters.
